Story
For all practical purposes, it was a day like any other. The sun was shining not too brightly, and the sky was a pleasant blue with a slight hint of cloud. The grass on her lawn was just as green and the birds perched on the trees were garbling their usual tune. But she knew something was different. Something felt different. The air felt electric with trepidation. The low buzz of activity around her reminded her that guests would be arriving soon. She decided to savour these final moments of her solitude before the household erupted into chaos. For these moments were precious and few, and made only sweeter by the promise of what was yet to come.
Live each moment to its fullest when you wear this exquisite white handwoven Jamdani saree, with bronze zari detailing. The saree is made of the softest mul cotton to ensure the most comfortable wear.
Description
Suta’s ‘made in heaven’ mul cotton is also known as mul mul in West Bengal. The fabric is buttery soft and has a delicate beauty. Its weave is very fine and this lends a very fluid texture to the fabric, which makes draping it a breeze. Jamdani is an incredibly intricate weaving technique. Each motif is inlaid into the fabric using a supplementary weft technique. Here, extra weft threads, often denser than the base, are added using individual spools while weaving. This technique makes the motifs appear as though they are floating on the fluid cotton fabric. Jamdani weaving is highly time intensive and it takes anywhere between several weeks to months to weave one saree. It is indeed a labour of love.
These sarees are embellished with delicate zari detailing that enhances their elegance and adds a regal charm.
