Story
Even as the world erupted in cheer around her, she felt as though she’d been trapped in her own little cloud of gloom. Nothing was going to plan – the days fused together into a shapeless blur, her resolutions for the new year had been cast aside, and her creativity was blocked with overwhelming feelings of loneliness and frustration. One evening, as she was walking through the park, she came across a few bright orange petals scattered on the ground. Looking up, she saw a towering tree in bloom. It was the palash – the tree that only bloomed for the first few months of the year, painting the park in its signature orange and vermillion hues. It was a breath-taking sight and one that sparked a fire within her. The flowers told her that Holi was around the corner. It was her favourite festival and one that also symbolised new beginnings. She resolved to shrug off her melancholia and embrace life every single day. It was strange how a single tree could invoke so much emotion; but that’s the beauty and power of nature.

Description
Shibori is a manual resist-dyeing technique of producing intricate patterns on fabric. There are numerous ways in which the fabric can be bound, stitched, folded, twisted or compressed, and each of these ways results in different patterns. In these gorgeous sarees, the tradition-honed art has been implemented on mul modal fabric, to create sarees that are lightweight and comfortable, while also visually stunning.
Modal products are nature-based, made from fibres derived from wood pulp. This material is sustainable as the wood pulp used is responsibly sourced. Modal fabric has a very low environmental footprint - its production uses significantly lesser natural resources than other fibres. At Suta, we add another layer of innovation to modal by creating our own mul modal fabric. This fabric combines modal yarn and our signature made-in-heaven mul yarn to bring to you the best of both fabric types.
