Story
Suta is so much more than the products we create – in fact, it is the stories we tell and the communities we build that define who we are and what we stand for. Our vision has always been to encourage people to explore their personal styles using garments as a medium, without the tags of gender, size or any other societal parameters. For us, inclusivity is a living, breathing ideal – one that permeates everything we design, believe in and implement.
One of our most successful campaigns was during Navratri 2020, where we narrated nine stories of nine people from all walks of life and had them wear Suta sarees that corresponded with the nine colours that marked the festivities. We also received much appreciation for our first ever Pride collection, which gave a platform to prominent and important voices from the LGBTQiA+ community – these reactions told us what we needed to know. They told us that our vision was resonating with those who needed to hear us.
Fashion is an outcome of expression and experimentation; consequently, there are no rules that define who can and who cannot wear a saree. Our thriving Suta community is not limited by gender, sexuality, age or body types. Instead, it continues to challenge convention and explore the beauty of the six yards in its purest, most limitless form.
