Story

As day turned to dusk, the low hum of the electricity grid fell silent, submerging the entire village in an almost opaque calm. She blinked twice, and then twice again to get her eyes adjusted to the nothingness around her. Feeling her way to the door, she threw it open and gingerly made her way down the rough-hewn path to the narrow stream that flowed past the village.

Just then, the cloud cover parted and the moon took centre stage, cloaking the evening in its brilliant silver. The stream now gleamed with the intensity of molten mercury, its uncharacteristically calm waters belying their immense depth. She knew better than to wade into the stream, but she often imagined the sinuous path it took before it opened into the sea. The many rocks it would gurgle over, the muddy banks it would split in two, and the blades of grass it would ruffle.

On a quiet day, she wished she could flow along with the stream, if only for a while. Perhaps one day she would swim into this river of light, and sail bravely into the unknown.

This gorgeous dark blue silk organza saree with white and green details and scalloped edges is as serene and tantalising as a river under a moonlit sky.

Description

Light as air and translucent like a rainbow, organza silk is a fabric that exudes delicate grandeur. Woven with twisted silk yarn on the warp as well as the weft, this fabric is hailed for its slight transparency and its slightly stiff and yet fluid texture. The slight sheen adds to its charisma, making it the perfect saree to drape for both festive and formal occasions. This saree is embellished with embroidery and features scalloped edges.
