Walking down a lonely lane on a cold, windy evening, she pulled her shrug a little tighter – although a familiar route, in the looming darkness, the landscape felt beak and formidable. And then, a gust of wind brought with it the aroma of freshly baked bread. She remembered the quaint old bakery around the corner, which had become a landmark of sorts simply because it had been around for so long.
The tantalizing aroma unleashed a wave of nostalgia – her mind flitted back to the time she’d decided to surprise her beloved grandmother with a very special cake. Although she’d spent hours slaving away, the final result was marginally better than a stodgy bowl of porridge. But instead of scolding her, her grandmother had told her she was proud of her for daring to try something new. And, in that moment, it felt as though her grandmother was right by her side, encouraging her to never give up her passion for learning and discovery.

Handloom cotton is handwoven by our weavers on mechanical looms. The process is time and labour-intensive, using techniques that have been passed down across generations of artisans. The resultant fabric is extraordinarily soft, breathable and resilient, and also drapes very well. Using handloom cotton not only helps us to work with smaller weavers but also plays an important role in reducing the environmental footprint of the garments we produce.
