Story
‘Shoe flower’ – that’s how she’d always known the brilliant pink flowers with their five symmetrical petals and red anthers. It was as common as it was beautiful, and its ubiquitous nature only added to its charm, as far as she was concerned. It had shocked her when she learned that she was to no longer call her beloved shoe flower by that name when she moved to the city, but instead refer to it by its official name, the hibiscus. Suddenly, the flower felt unfamiliar and unknown, as though uprooted from her memories and transported to a distant land. That changed when, one morning, she wandered into the park and chanced upon a hibiscus shrub in bloom. Suddenly, it felt as though she had been transported to the days of her youth. No matter what name she addressed it by, the plant was still as comforting, as nurturing. And for that, she was grateful.
Never be daunted by the unfamiliar, when you wear this beautiful pink saree made of cotton zari and woven with hibiscus-themed motifs.
Description
One of the most popular natural fibres in the world, cotton is hailed for its beauty, comfort, durability and versatility. Cotton is also naturally sustainable and its cultivation supports local farmers and communities. A low maintenance fabric, cotton is also hypoallergenic, making it the perfect choice around the year.
